The idea behind this Impact leg protector
There are many things that are important when choosing the right protectors for your horse.
When you choose hard protectors, they can be heavy, not as flexible, and/or not as breathable. But lightweight protectors also have disadvantages...they mainly provide less good protection.
The Impact leg protectors provide security, have been tested for strength when tapping or hitting a (fixed) obstacle, but are still comfortable for your horse!
Tri-Zone Impact protection
The design of these protectors consists of five layers, each layer chosen for its unique properties.
The first layer sits directly on the skin and is made of comfortable perforated EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate). The perforation ensures that heat can easily be dissipated and makes the boots breathable and flexible, so that they easily take the shape of your horse's leg.
Layer two is made of strong nylon mesh; for extra protection and to prevent dirt from getting to your horse's leg.
Layer three is an inner layer made of vinyl: strong and water resistant. This layer is applied to protect the sensitive tendons. By placing several narrow strips next to each other, the shape adapts more easily to the leg, for great comfort and freedom of movement.
Layer four is made of EVA in waffle design. This material is strong, breathable and long lasting. And easy to keep clean, which we also thought was very important!
And if last, the fifth layer, is strategically placed for extra protection when tapped. With the front leg protectors, this extra protection is located at both the front and back of the leg; in the case of the hind leg, on the largest part of the inside.
Who are the Tri-Zone Impact leg protectors intended for?
For everyone who is looking for maximum protection, without compromise on flexibility and comfort. These leg protectors are often used:
- as a lightweight, yet strong eventing leg protector
- for polo and mounted games
- for hunting and racing: it adds no heaviness to the leg

- and for every day!
Strong and durable, in short, great leg protectors!

There are Impact protectors in 4 sizes. See the size chart for a guide.
Equilibrium's size chart is based on your horse's height, in combination with the circumference of the leg and the height of the protector.
In the table you will find the following sizes:
(A) circumference of your horse's leg (leg)
(B) height of the protector

(C ) the stick size
If you measure the height and circumference of the horse's leg, you can use those measurements to check whether you have the right size.

For quick and easy daily maintenance, you can rinse them with clean water and let them dry for next time.
But they are also easy to wash in the machine, at a maximum of 30 degrees. Close all Velcro straps before washing and preferably use a laundry bag. Allow the protectors to dry naturally, not in the dryer or near direct heat.
Tip: the special Velcro brush can help remove dirt and hair from the Velcro.
