  • Omschrijving
  • The Thinline grazing mask is an innovative and gentle solution for horses that need to limit their feed intake without compromising comfort and natural behavior. It is made of an ultra-light but durable material, allowing the horse to drink, breathe and communicate easily without discomfort.

    • Gentle for the horse's mouth – Soft, flexible and without hard edges that can cause abrasions.
    • Light and flexible-  The horse accepts it easily and carries it without any problems.
    • Works with water containers – Works perfectly with both regular and automatic water bowls.
    • Maximum breathing – Designed with openings that ensure free air circulation.
    • Easy to adjust – Can be used with most halters and individually adjusted.
    • Durable material– Designed to last, even with daily use.

The Thinline grazing mask allows your horse to graze naturally, while limiting the amount of grass eaten. It is a gentle but effective way to protect your horse's health.

    Ideal for horses that:

    • Tend to be overweight and need to limit their grass intake.
    • Suffering from laminitis, EMS or other metabolic problems.
    • Need a gentle method to reduce their feed intake on pasture.

Tip: Combine the grazing mask with a Thinline Break Away safety halter for the optimal fit and safety and get a 10% discount on the halter!

    Two Grazing Hole Sizes

To meet different needs, the Thinline grazing mask is available with two hole sizes:

Standard hole size (3.5 cm) – Effectively limits grass intake, but allows natural grazing.
Reduced hole sizee (2.5 cm) – Ideal for horses that require greater restriction of feed intake, for example laminitis or obesity.

Both options allow the horse to eat at a natural pace, but with the control needed to maintain health.

The Thinline grazing mask comes with mounting strips, as well as test strips that you can use to find the correct setting on the halter. Once the grazing mask is positioned correctly, you can attach it to the halter with the mounting strips. These strips will break if the horse gets stuck, so it is important not to use other strips that might not break! If you need new strips, you can buy them here!

  • Sizes
  • The Thinline grazing mask is available in three sizes, so you can find the perfect fit for your horse:

Small – Suitable for ponies and small horse breeds.
Medium – Fits most average horses.
Large – Perfect for large horse breeds and heavy horses.

How do you find the right size?

To ensure that the grazing mask fits properly, measure your horse's head and halter:

    1. Check the fit of the halter – It should fit correctly with the noseband about two fingers below the horse's jaw.
    2. Measure from one side of the noseband to the other – Use a measuring tape to measure from one side of the halter, around the horse's mouth, to the other side.

Use the following table to find the correct size based on your measurements:

    Small (Mini/Pony) - between 37 and 45.5 cm

    Medium (Cob/Horse) - between 40.5 and 50.5 cm

Large (Large horse/cold blood) - between 44.5 and 55.5 cm

If your horse is between sizes, it is recommended to choose the larger size for greater comfort.

  • How to correctly attach the Thinline Grazing Mask?

Preparation: Use the supplied flexible strips or strings to temporarily attach the grazing mask to the halter and find the best placement.

Position of the 'fins': Two of the fins have a triangular cutout – these attach to the square side rings of the halter. Three fins are attached to the noseband (one in the center and two on the sides), and three fins are attached to the jawstrap in the same manner.

To confirm: Start by attaching the two fins with triangular cutouts using the thin flexible strips provided (save the zip ties for final attachment, when you are happy with the position). It is important that the fins are not wrapped around the halter as this can cause abrasions.

Adjust fit: The grazing mask must fit properly, but must not touch the horse's nose. If it touches the nose, extend the strap under the chin to lift the grazing mask away from the nose.

Final confirmation: Once you are satisfied with the fit, remove the temporary attachment and permanently attach the grazing mask with the zip ties. Cut off the excess material just above the top used hole.

Tip: Wait 1-2 days before cutting off the excess material to ensure the grazing mask fits comfortably. Make sure the zip tie holders are on the outside of the grazing mask and that the excess plastic is facing down to avoid irritation.

  • NB
  • Important information about use and wear

ThinLine grazing masks are designed for safety and comfort, but their lifespan depends on several factors. Always use a safety halter and the original zipties. Do not adjust the mask.

Wear varies due to your horse's grazing behavior and the surface. Masks wear out faster on short grass, grazed meadows and hard or sandy soil. Pay close attention to the fit; a mask that is too loose can cause damage.

The warranty applies to correct use and well-documented damage.
