Novafon Plus 2 makes sound wave therapy even easier than ever before.
The wide intensity spectrum with 3 frequencies and up to 15 intensity levels via the app, offers many different setting options. Through the accompanying app this Novafon can be precisely adjusted to the needs of humans and animals. The device is gentle on sensitive and painful parts of the body and can be used intensively on compact muscle groups.
App
Via a Bluetooth connection, the Novafon Plus 2 can be linked to the NOVAFON app, enabling even simpler and more individualized treatment. In the app, you can adjust the frequency and intensity, use a timer and see how many hours your Novafon has already worked. You will also find some short treatment videos (in English).
The handy "travel lock" prevents the device from accidentally turning on during transport, and thanks to its IP protection class 44, the Novafon Plus 2 is also better protected from splashing water. Unlike its predecessors, the Novafon Plus 2 has a magnetic charging plug, which better protects the connector from dirt and dust. Charging can be done with the included cable directly into the device.
What does Novafon do?
Novafon therapy, successful in humans for many decades, can also be used in our horses and, of course, in dogs, cats and other animals. The targeted local vibrations reduce pain, relieve tension and normalize movement patterns as a result of box rest or other a resting position, for example due to injury or illness. Animals often find this mild form of vibration therapy very comfortable and relaxing and you can often see them yawning, nibbling or licking during a treatment.
The gentle sound waves emitted by Novafon stimulate the body's own regeneration mechanisms and relax tense muscles. The vibrations promote blood circulation and stimulate the body's own healing process.
The Novafon Plus 2 is the most powerful Novafon we have in the webshop, and thanks to its 3 frequencies, this variant is very suitable for treating horses with their large, compact muscles - and can be used especially both light pain and pain in the deeper muscle layers.

Benefits of local vibration therapy
Compared to massage, local vibration therapy not only treats the muscles from above, but gently penetrates more than 6 cm deep into the tissue. In this way, even deep structures are reached, muscle tone is regulated and blood circulation is stimulated. The muscles are better oxygenated and metabolic processes are stimulated. At the same time, the gentle vibrations locally relieve pain - without the use of drugs.
Thanks to the variable intensity of 0.3 - 4.0 mm, depending on the type of device, stimulation can be generated in a very gentle way. Therefore, not only highly sensitive body parts can be treated, but also compact muscle groups.

You can buy additional accessories for specific areas or treatments. For example, the large sound plate in the Rehab package is ideal when treating large muscle groups, such as the back and lower back, and the cone is good for point treatments, such as acupressure points.
The effect of Novafon is based on Melzack and Wall's (1965) gate control theory - a theory of pain relief. Pain impulses are transmitted through specific nerve pathways via the spinal cord to the brain. According to this theory, there is a "pain gateway" in the spinal cord that determines whether pain signals are transmitted. This gate can be affected by external stimuli such as touch, vibration or temperature.
Therefore, pain relief is not only possible through medication, but other therapies such as massage, vibration, movement or relaxation can also have a positive effect. Since pain signals are processed similarly in humans and animals, we can use Novafon not only on ourselves, but also on our beloved animals.
Using Novafon, vibrations with an acoustic frequency up to 6 cm deep are sent vertically into the tissue. This deep stimulation overrides the actual pain stimulus. Local vibration therapy feels like a pleasant massage, but works much deeper. Animals often relax immediately during treatment, which can also contribute mentally to pain reduction. By stimulating blood circulation, muscles, ligaments, tendons and blood vessels receive more oxygen, which also stimulates metabolism.
3 frequencies - 100Hz, 75Hz and 50Hz
The Novafon Plus 2 works with 3 frequencies whose effect has been proven in multiple studies: 100 Hz for pain relief, 75 Hz for muscle activation and 50 Hz for tissue loosening and relaxation. All frequencies can also be adjusted in intensity - from very gentle to powerful. You can control them on the device itself, or via the Novafon app with even more adjustment options.

Vertical stimulation
Thanks to vertical stimulation, the device works deep into the tissue. As a result, the vibrations also reach deeper structures.

Treatment
We believe it is important that you first consult with your own veterinarian about which treatment is best for your horse and its symptoms.
A treatment with the Novafon preferably lasts 10 to 15 minutes and can be repeated daily. The intensity should be adjusted individually, as animals experience vibrations differently - especially around the head. Always treat both sides. Always start on the softest setting and increase gradually.
Treat whole muscles or muscle groups first with stroking or circular movements for relaxation. Then move on to specific stress points with light pressure or small circular movements.
