Does your horse have stiff or sore hocks, swelling, or perhaps hock spurs? Royal DeLuxe hock boots provide soft protection and comfortable warmth, both when the horse is in its stall and when it’s being transported.

New and improved fit
In this Deluxe version, Back on Track has focused particularly on the fit. The gaiters better follow the leg’s anatomy, extend higher up, and have a more rounded shape, minimizing pressure on tendons, muscles, and nerves.
Just like BOT’s Royal DeLuxe stable boots, they feature a lovely soft and thick Welltex® pad with soft edges. The padding conforms nicely around the leg and hock, ensuring good contact and reflecting heat as effectively as possible. It’s secured to the outer gaiter with Velcro and is easy to remove and wash.
The outer boot has an opening over the hock. The pad still covers the hock, and the opening reduces the risk of pressure points. At the same time, the gaiter moves more freely with the horse’s movements and doesn’t slip down. The middle of the three Velcro straps has a two-part elastic band to prevent pressure on the joint.
When can you use them?
- For sore and stiff hocks, swelling, or osteoarthritis
- Preventatively, e.g., for horses that kick in their stalls or during transport
- For hock issues, because the pad covers the hock while the opening in the outer gaiter relieves pressure
We always recommend using them on both hind legs to prevent imbalance in the body. The hock boots are recommended for use in the stall or during transport.
How Back on Track Works
Back on Track products are made from functional fabrics that reflect heat. During the manufacturing process, ceramic particles are fused into the fibers. These particles are heated by the horse’s own body heat and reflect it back to the body as long-wave infrared radiation.
Welltex® technology can increase blood circulation. Improved blood flow can help maintain joint mobility and make the muscles softer and less tense.
Horses constantly emit body heat, both at rest and during work. Heat radiation is lower at rest, so you’ll get the most out of the products if you use them on the most exposed areas both at rest and during activity.
Getting Started
Start slowly so the horse can get used to the heat:
- Days 1–3: Use the leg wraps for no more than 4 hours a day.
- After that: Increase to at least 8 hours a day, preferably longer.
- When will you see results? For tense muscles and stiff joints, you can often feel a difference after just an hour. For more persistent issues, it may take 10–20 days.
Once the horse is accustomed to the gaiters, use them in the way that works best for your specific horse. This could be, for example, in intervals with breaks in between, a little each day, or at night.
Sizes
Measure the horse with a soft measuring tape while it is standing calmly and evenly on all four legs.
- A: Measure the circumference 11 cm above the hock.
- B: Measure the circumference 13 cm below the hock.

Care
Machine washable at 40 degrees on a gentle cycle with regular detergent. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Do not dry clean, iron, or tumble dry. Air dry.
Keep the leggings clean for best results. The minerals that provide the effect are fused into the material and cannot be washed or worn away. Follow the care instructions on the label to ensure the leggings last longer and retain their elasticity, texture, and shape.
