bitopEQUI® LUNG Complete plus – Hypertonic inhalation solution for horses
Does your horse have problems with thick mucus, coughing, or respiratory issues AND (thick) mucus? bitopEQUI® LUNG Complete plus is a ready-to-use hypertonic saline solution that helps loosen and remove mucus so your horse can breathe more easily.
This version comes in convenient ampoules. It contains the same sterile 3% hypertonic saline solution with bi-medEctoin® as the 200-ml bottle—but packaged in 30 individual 5-ml ampoules, ready to use without dilution.
What does bitopEQUI® LUNG Complete plus do?
This sterile 3% saline solution contains bi-medEctoin®, a natural molecule that:
- Moisturizes and protects the airways from irritation caused by pollen, dust, and allergens.
- Loosens mucus and supports its clearance during acute buildup.
- Provides relief for horses with chronic respiratory problems.
- Has no side effects or habituation and is not metabolized.
Use and Application
bitopEQUI® LUNG Complete plus is specially formulated for use in an inhaler and does not need to be diluted. The solution can be safely used for a period of 1–3 weeks for horses with thick mucus.
Ampoules or bottle—when does each make sense?
Ampoules are the right choice when:
- Your horse only needs Complete plus occasionally—e.g., during a dusty period, for transport, or during the competition season
- You don’t need a full 200-ml bottle and want to avoid waste
- You want to have something ready in your bag for a show or clinic—exactly what you need, nothing more
The 200 ml bottle offers better value per ml if your horse is on a treatment course (1–3 weeks) or when you’re using the maximum daily dose of 30 ml.
How to use it:

Use 10–30 ml per inhalation session, depending on the inhaler’s capacity.

For optimal results, the solution should be inhaled daily for 1–3 weeks.

After the treatment course, you can switch to an isotonic saline solution, such as bitopEQUI® LUNG Complete, for long-term care.

To maintain sterility, draw the solution through a cannula or spike from the bottle’s silicone seal.
Use with Flexineb — cup and setting
Use the gray cup on setting 1. bitopEQUI® LUNG Complete Plus is an aqueous solution—which is precisely why the gray cup is the right choice. It is designed to nebulize light, aqueous liquids evenly and effectively. If you stick with the gray cup in step 1, your horse will receive the optimal droplet size and the full effect of the treatment.
What is the difference between bitopEQUI® LUNG Complete Plus and bitopEQUI® LUNG Complete?

LUNG Complete plus is hypertonic (3% saline solution) and actively helps loosen and remove thick mucus. Ideal for horses with acute respiratory problems.

LUNG Complete is isotonic (0.9% saline solution) and suitable for long-term care and moisturizing the respiratory tract after an intensive treatment course.
In short: Use LUNG Complete Plus (only) if your horse has thick mucus, and then switch to LUNG Complete for daily support.
