Before inhaling
If you want to get your horse used to inhaling, leave the exhalation valve open until the horse is breathing calmly.
During inhalation
The exhalation valve must be closed during inhalation so that the inspiratory fluid cannot escape. Your horse gets sufficient air through the inlet valve. In an emergency, you can easily open or remove the exhalation valve.
